MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

Fabio Kaufmann’s 17th-minute goal gave Braunschweig their lead in the match, but it was not to last, as Aue scored the next three to hand the visitors a 3-1 loss. Trainer Daniel Meyer lamented his team’s many mistakes, as well as the lack of personnel as the team has struggled with injuries throughout the season.

Dusseldorf took charge early in their home match with Paderborn Monday night, playing what trainer Uwe Rosler said was “the best 30 minutes we’ve had this season” on their way to a 2-1 home win. Dusseldorf remains one of two teams yet to lose at home and have won their last five league matches. The club has also improved their road performance. Since taking just one point from their first five away matches, they have won their last two road games in league play, giving them confidence as they play their next two away from home.

This is a bit of a mismatch of two teams in starkly opposing form. Braunschweig has yet to show they have made the leap in quality from the third division, while Dusseldorf is fully recovered from early struggles to rejoin the chase for promotion. Take Dusseldorf to win here.

HEAD TO HEAD

This will be the first meeting between Brauschweig and Dusseldorf since the 2017-18 season. Dusseldorf has the most-recent win in the series, a 1-0 win at Braunschweig in December 2017. The clubs had split points from a 2-2 draw earlier in the season.
