MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Hamburg found themselves playing from behind last weekend when host Nurnberg took a lead in the 14th minute. Simon Terodde equalized twenty minutes later, but Daniel Thioune’s side were unable to produce another, settling for a point from their 1-1 draw. The result ends Hamburg’s win streak at four matches, but was enough to keep the club at the top of the league table. Hamburg also remains the league’s highest-scoring team with 31 goals in 15 matches.

Osnabruck suffered home loss last weekend, falling 3-2 to Wurzburger Kickers. Coming off a big win at Holstein Kiel, Marco Grote’s side weathered some early pressure from their visitors, but ultimately got the only goal of the first half through Sebastian Kerk’s 41st minute strike. Three goals conceded in a 13-minute span was ultimately too much for the hosts to overcome, though Luc Ihorst halved the deficit in the 85th minute.

Osnabruck has taken 15 points from their eight away matches in league play and knocked Holstein Kiel off the top of the table the last time they played on the road. Hamburg’s high-powered attack has 18 league goals in their eight home matches, which is what will make the difference for the home side here.

HEAD TO HEAD

These clubs split points in their most-recent meeting, a 1-1 draw last June. Osnabruck won at home 2-1 earlier in the season in what was the first 2. Bundesliga match between the clubs.
