MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

Aue’s suffered a 3-0 loss at Greuther Furth last week. Trainer Schuster pointed-out that two of the goals conceded at Furth were direct results of errors of his own players and that his team played well, on balance, despite the loss. It was the club’s fifth loss in ten away league matches this season, but their third in their last four away league games. Aue now returns home where they have won three of their last four league matches.

Hamburg’s winter tear through the competition continued last weekend in a 3-1 win over Paderborn. Daniel Thioune’s squad was in control of the match throughout, thanks to an early goal from Moritz Heyer and Sonny Kittel’s brace. Thanks to a Bochum loss, Hamburg’s win put the league leaders four points clear of second place at the end of weekend action. Hamburg is currently unbeaten in their last nine league matches, including five away games.

Hamburg would do well to remember that the last time they visited Aue, they were sent home with a 3-0 loss. Aue is unquestionably a team that can pull an upset at home, but the way Hamburg is currently playing, it is hard to see this being their day. Stick with Hamburg.

HEAD TO HEAD

Hamburg beat Aue 3-0 back in October when they met for the first time this season. It was the third consecutive meeting of the two clubs in which the home team won and maintained a clean sheet.
