MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

St. Pauli’s five-game winning streak came to an end, but the club is now on a six-game unbeaten run following their scoreless draw at Karlsruher last week. There was always a danger of a let-down after the emotional derby win over Hamburg, which might have led to St. Pauli being held without a goal for the first time in the league since matchday 13. Timo Schultz’s squad still can boast about having posted consecutive clean sheets.

Paderborn dropped a 3-2 decision to Darmstadt last match, their second consecutive loss. The hosts overcame an early 1-0 deficit to take a 2-1 lead by the 55th minute, but then conceded two goals in a seven-minute span to see the points go to their visitors. Steffen Baumgart´s club has won just once in last seven league games.

Paderborn can point to statistics that show they maybe have deserved better from recent matches, but the fact is they simply are not getting results. St. Pauli is not only getting results, but they have convinced everyone they have left the relegation battle behind them for good. Expect the home side to take this one.

HEAD TO HEAD

Paderborn beat St. Pauli 2-0 at home back in November, ending a two-game losing streak to the Hamburg side.
