Volendam’s most recent game was the win over NAC. Samuele Mulattieri scored his 15th goal of the season in the first half. NAC found the net in the second half, but Samir Ben Sallem scored the winning 2-1 five minutes later. Cambuur lost only for the fourth time, a league best, against Roda.  They fell 1-0 behind before half time and then 2-0 in the second half. Robert Muhren scored his 25th goal of the season with five minutes of regular time remaining.  Roda added another goal though with Cambuur looking for a draw and that saw them lose 3-1. Volendam have won three of their last five games, losing two as well. They have been inconsistent at home lately. They have won just two of their last five home league games losing the other three. Cambuur’s loss to Roda ended a streak of 10 games without losing. Volendam managed to beat a previous streak winning 1-0 in Cambuur. Roda managed to become the first team all season defeating Cambuur in an away game. Cambuur had previously won 10 and drew 4 away from home in the league. I’m not overly impressed by Volendam lately, and with Cambuur still looking to extend their lead over 2nd placed De Graafschap by more than six points – clinching the title and promotion they will give it their all in winning this game.
