MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

Karlsruher dominated possession in their visit to Aue, but could not keep pace with their hosts, taking a 4-1 loss away from their midweek match. Karlsruher had quality chances to equalize, but instead had to see Aue take a 2-0 lead on their second chance of the match, signalling that it might not be Karlsruher’s day. The match remained thrilling with plenty of attacking action, but Karlsruher’s imprecision in attack ended up being the story of the match. Karlsruher has lost consecutive matches for the first time since opening the season with three losses.

Hamburg have won consecutive matches for the first time since end of October, following their 4-0 win over Sandhausen. Simon Terodde again scored twice, raising his league-leading total to 13 goals. Amadou Onana and Josha Vagnoman each snagged their first goal of the season to complete the scoring for Daniel Thioune’s side. Hamburg leads the league with 25 goals scored in the league.

Despite the lopsided score, Karlsruher looked like the better team in their loss to Aue. Hamburg was not as dominant over Sandhausen as the scoreline might lead you to believe. Even so, Hamburg is back to their high-flying ways for now, which should put Karlsruher to a third consecutive loss.

HEAD TO HEAD

Hamburg won both times these clubs played last season. The most-recent match was back in February, when Hamburg won 2-0 at home. Hamburg had won 4-2 in Karlsruhe earlier in the season.
