Sheffield United and Everton face off on Boxing Day in an English Premier League showdown at Bramall Lane. 

 

Everton has found a lot of success this season and coming into this game they sit in fourth place in the standings with 26 points. Everton is having a quick turnaround after playing on 12/23 in the EFL Cup quarterfinal. In that game against Manchester United, Everton couldn’t find the back of the net and that led to a 2-0 loss. In Everton’s last Premier League game, they put two goals in the back of the net and that led to a victory by a goal. The first goal was an own goal by Arsenal but in the 45th minute it was Yerry Mina who put a goal in the back of the net. 

 

Sheffield United have really struggled this season and coming into this game they sit with only two points which puts them in last place. One of those points did come in their last game though against Burnley. Jayden Bogle actually opened up the scoring for Sheffield United, but they allowed a goal in the 87th minute and that led to the loss. Sheffield United’s offense has been an issue, but the defense seems to be even the bigger issue. Two games ago against Manchester United, Sheffield United gave up three goals and if they want a chance in this game, the defense is going to need to be a lot better. Their offense isn’t good enough to make up if they give up two or three goals. 

 

Everton is the better team and they are going to take advantage of the weak defense of Sheffield United and that will be the difference in this game. Look for Everton to win this game by at least two goals so take Everton -1.5.
